A Summary of Our Coaching

Autumn and Winter Outdoor Training

Under 12s and second year Under 10s

We run additional training on Monday nights from around the start of November until the end of January at Salt Ayre. These are for our younger riders who are aiming to improve their technique for racing and to maintain and develop their fitness through the winter.

Under 14s and Under 16s

British Cycling run Development Centres (DCs) on Wednesday nights from around the start of November until the end of February

Autumn and Winter Indoor Training

Rollers for Everyone

We run roller sessions on Thursday nights from October until March. This is for the whole club and we will teach riders how to ride rollers, and then develop their skills and fitness in line with the British Cycling Talent Development requirements. We believe these skills should be for everyone: riders who can use rollers have better bike handling skills and better core strength.

Spring and Summer

Monday Nights

Throughout the warmer months we provide training at Salt Ayre to under 14s and under 16s in one group, and under 12s in a second group.  These sessions aim to develop race craft and fitness.

We also do hill climbing sessions to prepare riders for racing in the Isle of Man, Scarborough and North West Youth Tour. Over 12s can only ride unaccompanied if they have completed a Highways Permission form. Under 12s must ride with a nominated adult as the club is not insured for under 12s on the road.
