Cog Set Papyrus Racing Club is for riders from Youth A upwards to adults. We feel we are a bit different insofar as we have partnered up with a charity, Papyrus whose aim is to prevent suicide in young people. In 2016, we lost a rider, Kyle Lewis, who took his own life seemingly out of the blue. This has profoundly shaped everyone involved in the club. We are very proud to make our ethos promotion of this amazing charity as oppose to say promoting a bike shop.
Papyrus Race Team
A few of the Papyrus and Cog Set riders made the trip to Otley for the 2019 Otley Grand Prix. The sun was out and there were crowds of people lining the finishing straight.
It was very hot and the heat took it's toll on the riders but Tom finished midway down in the lead group of boys and Esther finished 8th in the girls race.

Keep the date free for the event of the year - Our Club Championships and BBQ!
Sorry there has been some confusion about the date. It is because we wanted to chose the date that suited most of our riders. With so many involved in races up and down the UK, that wasn't an easy one!

The Otley Town Centre Races remain the most prestigious criteriums in the British racing calendar, with past winners including Mark Cavendish, Jeremy Hunt, Adam Blythe, Jonny Clay and Chris Walker.
Now in its 34th year, the race in 2019 is set to carry on the long tradition of world class racing in Otley for both men and women.
CogSet Papyrus were well represented at the 2019 Isle of Man Youth Tour.
Stage 1 was not the usually sea front course this year but was still a short time trial but this year was uphill!
Stage 2 was a hill stage that had been part of previous tours but the riders definitely appreciated the fresh tarmac on the descent.
It was the first time our riders had raced on the stage 3 course - it was flat and fast which led to some exciting racing.

The early birds are renowned for hard, fast, and enduring racing and today did not disappoint! After solid performances from the girls, the A boys were the last race of the day. With an extremely strong field, the team knew it would be a tough race and as expected, it split straight from the start.
Whilst Ben, Will and Dylan held their own outside of the top 10, John stayed in the main peloton and as the race came back together in the last 10 laps, a bunch sprint was inevitable. John finished strong to take a top ten place. Overall a great performance from the team.
