Welcome to the home of Cog Set and the Cog Set Papyrus Racing Team.

Cog Set is our Go Ride Club where we welcome riders from ages 6-18. Our aim is to provide a fun, inclusive and friendly environment for young people on their bikes. Our Saturday morning sessions (10am - 12pm) are the heart and soul of our club and riders of all ages and abilities, from little people on their first bike, to lycra clad racers come down to learn, develop and practise their riding and racing skills. Our Saturdays specifically focus on riding bikes suitable for the road and also MTB/cyclocross too. There is something for everyone.

Cog Set Papyrus Racing Team is the extension of our club where riders who like to compete from the age of 14 upwards can race. We are very proud to be associated with Papyrus, a charity that works tirelessly to prevent suicide in young people.

We also support riders who wish to develop their velodrome/track skills too.

So please explore the website, find out more and get in touch. We are always happy to meet new folk.

Saturday morning sessions, 2023

Our Saturday morning coaching sessions for the 2023 season restart on 4th March and will run until 14th October. These sessions are for either road biking on the tarmac track at Salt Ayre, or mountain biking on the grassy areas near the track. Track sessions consist of some skills training, and finish with an optional race around the track.  Mountain bike sessions are all just good muddy fun.

Gearing up for the '23 season

Spring is right around the corner and Saturday sessions will be starting for the '23 the season on 4th March.

Sessions run from 10-12 at Salt Ayre bike circuit. Riders need to arrive by 9.50 to get signed on and be ready to start riding at 10.

As ever the most up-to-date information will be on our club Facebook group 'Salt Ayre Cog Set'.

Autumn Winter 2022

Usual Cogset Saturday morning coaching has now ended for the 2022 season and will resume in spring 2023.

Some winter training sessions may happen through the winter for those who can train hard enough to keep warm.

Due to the low reliability of weather and the need for numbers for sessions to work, they will be organised via the Facebook Group to allow for rapid amendments. If you are keen please keep a close eye there!
